VEG BAG TALK

Food Circle Huddersfield are now packing near on 100 veg bags a month! That's a fantastic achievement for our little CIC which started with 8 bags In November 2024. Whether you're currently getting a bag, have had one in the past or plan to have one in the future thank you for choosing us to supply you with your delicious nutritious veg.

We're trying to get the message out that considering where our food comes from and how its been produced is important because it's through our everyday choices we can show support for positive environmental, social, ethical and economic practices and the people who place these concerns at the forefront of their farm or food business. The veg that goes into Food Circle bags is always organic and we try our best to put together bags using as many UK producers, especially ones closest to home, as we can. Whilst using farms from further afield to keep bags varied and exciting, especially through Winter.

It might surprise you to know that Food Circle don't make any profit on our veg bags. In fact for at least 6 months we ran the veg bag scheme as volunteers, 100 customers a month now means we can pay a fair wage for the veg to be planned, ordered, weighed, packed and sent out each fortnight. This still doesn't mean profit, with rising overhead costs, Food Circle needs to continue to increase veg bags numbers to be truly sustainable so it can also pay for its share of business overheads. Luckily another factor in play is the price of wholesale veg and growing some of our own at the Anello Kitchen Garden will go a little way to helping keep down costs.. fingers crossed for successful crops!

Delivery

We offer delivery to all HD postcodes for £4.50. Deliveries are made on Fridays, unless you live in the Clone Valley then sometimes it can be Thursday evening. You don't need to be in to take delivery but it really does help to put a note on your order or account of a shaded or sheltered spot, especially when we are having such nice weather.

Pick Up Points

Zapato Tap: Holme Mills, W Slaithwaite Rd, Marsden

Collection is from Thursday 6pm and we ask for all orders to be collected within 24 hours.

Collection is Fridays 10am - 5pm
